September 2026-You’re Getting Things Done, But How Are You Really Doing?

You’re getting things done.
You’re answering the calls, handling responsibilities, showing up for work, taking care of family, helping other people, and figuring out whatever comes next.
From the outside, you may look like you’re doing just fine.
But how are you really doing?
Sometimes we wait until we are completely exhausted, frustrated, overwhelmed, or ready to shut down before we admit that something needs attention. But you don’t have to be falling apart to check in with yourself.
Think about your life like several different tanks.
There’s your physical tank. Your emotional tank. Your relationships. Your faith. Your mental space. Even your sense of purpose and enjoyment matters.
You can be doing well in one area while running low in another.
Maybe you’re keeping up with your responsibilities, but you haven’t been sleeping well. Maybe you’re taking care of everyone else, but you’ve been more irritated than usual. Maybe you’re praying and staying connected to God, but your body is tired. Or maybe you simply haven’t had much time to do anything that brings you joy.
That doesn’t mean something is terribly wrong.
It may simply mean something needs your attention.
Try this wellness check-in this week
1. Ask yourself what feels low.
Don’t overthink it. What area of your life has been feeling drained lately? Your energy? Patience? Relationships? Faith? Motivation? Pay attention to what comes to mind first.
2. Choose one small response.
You don’t have to fix your whole life this week. If your body is tired, maybe you go to bed earlier twice this week. If you’ve been disconnected from someone you love, make the call. If your mind feels crowded, give yourself 15 quiet minutes without your phone.
3. Stop ignoring the warning light.
We usually know when something has been off. The goal isn’t to judge yourself for it. The goal is to notice it and respond before you are completely empty.
Even Jesus made room to step away from the crowd, rest, and pray. Taking time to notice what you need does not mean you are neglecting your responsibilities. Sometimes it helps you return to them healthier and more present.
So before this week gets away from you, ask yourself one question:
What part of me needs a little more attention right now?
Then do one thing about it.
You don’t need a complete life makeover. Start with the tank that is running low.
