For as long as I can remember, I have felt a deep calling to serve others. As a Mental Health Counselor, community advocate, and servant leader, I have spent over twenty years working with individuals and families who are struggling not just with their mental well-being, but also with fundamental challenges like food insecurity and unstable housing. My passion for this work is deeply personal, shaped by my experiences growing up in a community where access to these essential resources was often limited.
Over the past two decades, I have dedicated my life to helping people heal, find hope, and regain stability to establish a life of fulfillment for themselves and their families. My journey in mental health counseling has allowed me to witness firsthand the deep emotional toll that poverty, homelessness, and trauma take on individuals. I have sat across from clients who are battling depression and anxiety while also struggling to put food on the table. I have worked with individuals and families who are doing their best to stay afloat but lack the resources to get the support they need. Time and time again, I have seen how interconnected these challenges are—how hunger, mental health, and housing instability are not separate issues but part of a much larger struggle.
For years, I served as a community collaborator, organizing food distributions for people experiencing homelessness and advocating for safe housing and equitable access to mental health services. But as I continued my work, I realized that my efforts while impactful—were not enough. I wanted to do more. I wanted to create a structured, sustainable organization that would provide relief and empower individuals and families to build healthier, more stable lives.
That vision became Trinity Way Community Development Corporation. In 2021, I founded this organization with a heart for social justice, equity, and holistic healing. My goal was to establish a nonprofit that would serve as a bridge between underserved communities and essential resources a place where people could receive mental health support, access nutritious food, and find pathways to stable housing.
Trinity Way CDC is more than just a nonprofit; it is the culmination of my life’s work. It is the embodiment of my belief that no one should have to choose between mental health and basic survival and that every person deserves dignity, support, and a chance to thrive. Through workshops, groups, coaching, food assistance programs, and advocacy, we are changing lives one person, one family, and one community at a time.
My expertise in mental health, coupled with my years of hands-on community service, has equipped me with the knowledge and passion needed to lead this movement. I am committed to being a voice for the voiceless, an advocate for those who feel forgotten, and a guide for those seeking a path to healing and stability.
