Kings Still Rising: Faith, Fatherhood & Men’s Mental Health

Posted in June 2025

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul

prospers.” — 3 John 1:2

June is Men’s Health Month, and as we celebrate Father’s Day, Trinity Way CDC honors the

Kings—fathers, brothers, mentors, and sons—who lead, serve, and stand tall in our

communities.

God never called you to carry everything alone. Real strength includes rest, healing, and support.

What It Means to Be a Healthy King

As a mental health professional and someone who deeply honors the role of men, I created the

Men’s Self-Care Playbook: Recharge, Refocus, Rise to speak directly to you.

You are not defined by what you do, but by who you are.

Self-care isn’t weakness—it’s wisdom. It’s how you stay strong for yourself, your family, and

your purpose.

Men’s Self-Care Essentials

1. Check In With Yourself—No Judgment

Ask, “How am I really doing?” Then pause, reflect, and respond with truth and grace.

2. Move Your Body

Find what energizes you—walk, stretch, or play. Movement clears your mind and fuels your

strength.

“Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.” — 1 Corinthians 6:19

3. Rest Like You Deserve It

Rest is not earned—it’s essential. Give your body and mind time to recover.

“In quietness and trust is your strength.” — Isaiah 30:15

4. Build Brotherhood

Surround yourself with men who uplift and challenge you. Growth happens in connection.

“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” — Proverbs 27:17

5. Lean on God

Let God carry what you were never meant to hold. He is your peace, your anchor, your strength.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1

Final Word to the Kings

To every man reading this:

You are not invisible. You are not forgotten. You are not alone.

You are a King, chosen by God, equipped with purpose, and worthy of rest, healing, and joy.

We honor you this month—not just for what you do, but for who you are.

You’ve been the protector, the provider, the problem-solver, the silent strength. But now it’s time

to make space for you, your health, your peace, and your future.

You deserve to be seen. You deserve to be whole. You deserve to breathe deeply, love freely,

and lead from a place of overflow, not burnout.

Take one step today. Then another.

Not because you’re broken, but because you are becoming.

Not because you’re weak, but because you are wise enough to grow.

Your story is still unfolding. And you are still rising.
